German and english review

 

Gibt es noch jemanden außer mir, der das Buch oder die ganze Buchreihe noch nicht gelesen hat? Gibt es eigentlich noch viel dazu zu sagen oder zu schreiben?!

 

Ich liebe dieses Buch und ich kann es kaum abwarten, dass ich mich von meinem Buchkauf-Bann erlöse und die anderen Bücher in der Reihe kaufen kann.

 

Ich fand den Schreibstil unglaublich schön, vor allem wie die Welt aufgebaut und beschrieben wurde. Wunderschön. Außerdem mag ich die ganze Idee, Celaena, die berühmteste Assassine, die aus dem Todeslager geholt wird um bei einem Wettkampf mitzumachen, bei dem sie entweder gewinnt und nach vier Jahren, die sie für den König arbeiten muss, ihre Freiheit wieder bekommen kann, oder aber wieder zurück geschickt wird. Die Story gefällt mir einfach so gut, gerade weil man sich vorstellen kann, dass das alles eben kein Zuckerschlecken werden wird sondern auch nachdem sie gewonnen hat, sicherlich das ein oder andere Problem auf sie zukommen wird.

 

Die Charaktere fand ich auch einfach total klasse. Celaena, Chaol, Nehemia und auch Philippa (ich liebe einfach solche Nebencharaktere wie sie). Dorian, uh, sagen wir mal ich bin mir noch nicht ganz so sicher was ich über ihn denke.

 

Beziehungsmäßig, ich liebe die Freundschaft zwischen Celaena und Nehemia. Freundschaften zwischen Frauen sind einfach immer so super wichtig für mich, dass ein Buch gleich mehrere Pluspunkte von mir bekommt, wenn solche Freundschaften mit ihm Vordergrund stehen.

Und natürlich musste ich mich gleich in Chaol/Celaena vergucken. Ich finde die beiden einfach so klasse und bin echt gespannt wie sich das so weiter entwickelt. Ich mag total ihre Momente miteinander. Gerade während ihrem letzten Kampf im Wettkampf. Ah. Damit haben sie mich geschafft. Es sind die kleinen Dinge, die mich schaffen.

 

Was ich auch total spannend fand, war die ganze Situation mit den anderen Mitbewerbern, die umgebracht wurden, nicht das sie umgebracht worden, sondern einfach das ganze Rätsel darum, was oder wer es war. Genauso wie die geheimnisvollen Wyrdzeichen und die ganze Geschichte mit Elena. So schön mystisch. Hat mir sehr gut gefallen.

Is there even anyone out that, except for me, who hasn't read the book or the whole series yet? is there even anything to talk or write about anymore?!

 

I love this book so much and I can't wait for the day when I will relieve myself off the stupid book buying ban I put myself on, and buy the other books in the series.

 

I thought the writing was wonderfully done, the whole world building. Everything. Amazing. Also, I really love the whole idea, Celaena, being a famous assassin, who gets pulled out of a slave camp, to become part of a contest, where she can either win and after four years of working for the king will be free, or she gets send back and probably won't survive. I love the story and how you can already tell that all of this won't be a walk in the park and even if she wins that there will be a lot of problems coming her way.

 

 

The characters are also really great. Celaena, Chaol, Nehemia and also Philippa (I just love minor characters like her). Dorian, ugh, let's just say I don't exactly know how I feel about him yet.

 

Relationship-wise. I love the friendship between Celaena and Nehemia. Friendships between women are always super important to me, so the book always gets extra points from me if it has a friendship like that that's very prominent in the book.

Of course I had to fall in love with Chaol/Celaena. They are so amazing and I can't wait to see how things will progress for them. I just love the moment they shared with each other. Especially that one moment during her last fight in the contest. Ah. With that they totally had me on there side. It's the little things that get me the most.

 

Other things that I thought were really well done, was the whole situation with the other contestants, how some of them were killed. I loved the mystery about who or what was doing that. Also the mystic Wyrdmarks and the whole story about Elena. So mystical.
(how many times can you use a word with myst- in a short little paragraph???)
