First things first: I received this book through NetGalley.
Ich habe es geschafft bei NetGalley, die ganze Buchreihe abzustauben!!!! Ich bin echt so happy, denn gleich mit dem ersten Band, haben sie mich total in die Welt von Harry Hole reingezogen.
Inhalt: Der Polizist Harry Hole wird zur Aufklärung des Mordes an der norwegischen Schauspielerin Inger Holter nach Australien gesandt. Dort steht ihm sein Kollege Andrew Kensington, ein Aborigine, zur Seite. Die beiden unkonventionellen Polizisten freunden sich schnell an. Von Andrew erfährt Hole eine Menge über Australien, seine Geschichte und das Leben in Sydney. Doch der Mord an Inger Holter ist kein Einzelfall. Im ganzen Osten von Australien werden junge, blonde Frauen vergewaltigt, mitunter auch erwürgt. Ist der Täter ein psychopathischer Frauenmörder?
Jetzt, wo ich am Ende des Buches so durch meine Notizen gehe, finde ich es einfach nur süß wie naiv und unschuldig ich war. Ganz ehrlich, ich zweifel nach dem Buch total an meiner Menschenkenntnis (außerdem zweifel ich an meinen Rechtschreibfähigkeiten, weil ich dieses Wort in fünf Versionen geschrieben habe, bevor ich endlich aufgegeben und Google gefragt habe).
Es hat sich am Anfang unheimlich gezogen, dass muss ich ehrlich zu geben. Doch als ich den Teil dann überstanden hatte, war es einfach nur noch unheimlich spannend. Zum Schluss hin, habe ich keinen der Nebencharaktere mehr getraut, nachdem mich die ein oder andere Wendung vollkommen blind getroffen hat und richtig erschüttert hat.
Mehr will ich eigentlich garnicht sagen oder verraten. Außer, dass ich Jo Nesbø's Schreibstil unheimlich toll finde und ich auch schon gleich das zweite Buch in der Serie angefangen habe zu lesen. Harry Hole, er ist eine Katastrophe und wirklich ein totales Wrack, aber irgendwie ist er mir ans Herz gewachsen.

Through some dumb luck, I actually got the whole series from NetGalley!!! I'm so so happy, cause right with the first book they managed to suck me into the world of Harry Hole.
Summary: Inspector Harry Hole of the Oslo Crime Squad is dispatched to Sydney to observe a murder case. Harry is free to offer assistance, but he has firm instructions to stay out of trouble. The victim is a twenty-three year old Norwegian woman who is a minor celebrity back home. Never one to sit on the sidelines, Harry befriends one of the lead detectives, and one of the witnesses, as he is drawn deeper into the case. Together, they discover that this is only the latest in a string of unsolved murders, and the pattern points toward a psychopath working his way across the country. As they circle closer and closer to the killer, Harry begins to fear that no one is safe, least of all those investigating the case.
To be honest, in the beginning things really were slow and I couldn't be bothered. But as soon as I got through that part, things started to get really interesting and exciting. At the end of the book, I didn't trust any of the minor characters anymore after I got blindsided by some of these twists that were coming out of nowhere and hit me right were it hurt.
I actually don't want to say anything more. Only that Jo Nesbø's writing is amazing and I love it. I also started reading the second book in the series right away. Harry Hole, he is a mess and a total wreck but he somehow managed to find his way into my heart.
